Assembly Bill 497, Nevada Organ & Tissue Donor Registry Becomes a Law.
Highlights
of A.B. 497
Customers at DMV will be given informational brochures and applications on organ donation to help each person make an informed decision on becoming an organ donor.
Organ donors will be registered throughout our state, as well as throughout the country, to help facilitate the organ donation process.
Each Nevadan will have an opportunity to donate $1.00 or more at any DMV office in our state to help save the lives of those transplant candidates in need of a life-saving organ.
Some of the many areas in which donations given at DMV will be used are: to educate the public on the critical need for more organ donors, publicly acknowledge families of donors, and provide assistance to transplant candidates and recipients.
The Nevada Organ & Tissue Donation Task Force was formed as a result of A.B. 497.
Assembly Bill 497 will help unify the state of Nevada in our important efforts to save more lives by increasing the number of organ donors.
