Calling all Nevada athletes! Join Team Nevada and be a part of the U.S. Transplant Games to be held July
11-16, 2008, in Pittsburgh, PA.
The Olympic-style competition, presented by the National Kidney
Foundation, is open to anyone who has had a life-saving organ
transplant for six months or longer, including kidney, liver, lung,
heart, pancreas, and bone marrow.
Living donors and donor families are also a very special part of the
U.S. Transplant Games. Their involvement with the team is key to the
Team's success. Programs and activities are planned for family and
donors, however one of the most moving experiences is watching the
Games and seeing first-hand how donation has saved and enhanced the
lives of so many.
Fundraising for the Games is underway and we welcome any
organization or individual who would like to be a Team sponsor. Many
levels of sponsorships are available and donations are tax
deductible.
The games are held every two years for recipients of life-saving
organ transplants (doctor's approval required). Transplant patients
compete in athletic events, make new friends and share common
experiences.
Attending the Transplant Games is a wonderful way to celebrate the gift of life. It is an amazing four days of competition, cheers, tears, and inspiration.
