On May 13, 2005 Grubb & Ellis/NCG teamed up with the City of Reno for a Charity Raft Race to kick off the second annual Reno River Festival. Twenty rafts sponsored by local businesses and community VIP's, including local sports celebrities and elected officials, raced down the Truckee River to benefit The Transplant Network and the Truckee River Trust.  The proceeds earned from the event was deposited into a special account to help liver transplant candidate Heidi Smith pay for her surgery.
