Heidi with her daughter Sara

Heidi Smith contracted Hepatitis C from a blood transfusion she received in 1980.  Over the years the devastating effects of the virus have ravaged Heidi's liver.  With only months to live, Heidi's only hope for survival is to undergo a liver transplant.  Heidi's health insurance will only pay a minimal amount of the cost for the surgery, which runs hundreds of thousands of dollars.  After waiting ten years on the National Transplant Waiting List, the transplant hospital has removed Heidi from the list until she can prove she will be able to pay for the surgery.  Please help save Heidi's life by donating to the "Save Heidi" fund set up through The Transplant Network.
