WASHOE
MEDICAL CENTER EXHIBIT OF POSTERS & PAINTINGS BY STUDENTS IN SUPPORT OF
ORGAN & TISSUE DONOR AWARENESS
RENO – Healing Arts at
Washoe Medical Center is joining Sierra Eye & Tissue Donor Services, The
Transplant Network and the Nevada Organ & Tissue Donation Task Force to
promote education and awareness of the desperate need for more organ donors, by
sponsoring the Organ & Tissue Donor Poster and Painting Exhibit.
The Exhibit is featuring the posters and paintings from northern Nevada
high school students who submitted their work for last year’s Transplant
Network Organ & Tissue Donor Awareness Poster Event.
With more than 87,000 people in the United States waiting for a
lifesaving organ transplant and an estimated 6,100 people who will die this year
alone waiting for a suitable donor, these high school students expressed their
feelings and concerns for this important issue with their works of art.
The exhibit is being held in the Promenade Gallery between
Washoe Professional Center and Washoe Medical Center located at 77 Pringle Way.
Along with these original and clever posters are several beautiful
paintings done by the students from the advanced art class at Galena High School
which express the student’s feelings about organ donation that far exceeds
their age.
The exhibit will remain open for public viewing at Washoe Medical Center
through the end of January, 2005, between the hours of 6:00am to 6:00pm.
We invite everyone to come and enjoy these beautiful works of art.
