SB 192
Members of The Transplant Network testified before the Senate in favor of Senate Bill 192. This bill seeks to maintain a transplant patient's health insurance coverage of certain immunosuppressant drugs. Debbie Pinjuv, Heidi Smith and Tracy Copeland spoke about the importance of a transplant patient's need to continue the use of medications, such as Prograf and Cellcept, instead of being forced to use a generic substitute. SB 192 also prohibits an insurer from increasing the cost-sharing obligations of the patient for their immunosuppressant drugs.
